More research needs to be done on this topic. Better research. The causes need to be examined.
This is why bisexual visibility is so important. We can sit around and campaign for marriage equality all we want but the right to marry who we want isn’t going to help those of us who are raped and abused.

Wait, so according to this graphic, out of all women who are lesbian, bisexual or straight (excluding other sexual preferences), 26% of the women in the world have been raped.That’s either badly researched, worded incorrectly or a truly terrifying statistic.
This data in particular is only about the US. But yeah, the world statistic regarding rape/sexual violence is 1 in 3 women.
From an Our Bodies Ourselves blog post on U.S. intimate partner violence using recent CDC data:
43.8% of lesbian women, 61.1% of bisexual women, and 35.0% of heterosexual women had experienced rape, physical violence, and/or stalking by an intimate partner.
Approximately 1 in 8 lesbians (13.1%), nearly half of bisexual women (46.1%), and 1 in 6 heterosexual women (17.4%) have been raped in their lifetime
